Connections / Gratitude
“It’s important to remember where you came from.” … a quote often spoken by famous, noteworthy people and a quote that couldn’t ring more true by Huntington’s Michael Brown. An alumni of Huntington High School, class of 1987, Michael Brown, a once track member and High School Football star has not let his success get in the way of giving back to those who helped pave the way for him.
Michael, Partner of Atlantic Auto Group, which owns 22 car dealerships across Long Island, is now a staunch supporter of his alma mater, the Huntington School District. “It’s important to keep connected with the community where you came from. How can we get to where we are without people helping us? Now it’s my turn to do the same.”
A few years back, Huntington Alumni, Kevin Thornborn, was asked to see if he had a connection with anyone who could help the Parent-Teacher-Student-Association (PTSA). Kevin called his buddy Michael Brown and soon a car was donated to be raffled off in conjunction with the High School’s “Texting While Driving program.” It was truly a collaborative effort between the PTSA and NY Auto Giant in making such an important event a success. Three years later his support continues, touching the lives of so many Huntington students.
This year, Michael is expanding his generosity, not only working with the PTSA, but also, The Huntington Foundation For Excellence In Education (HFEE). This February, a car will be raffled off at HFEE’s Reach for the Stars Gala. All thanks, once again, to Mike and Chevrolet of Huntington.
